Help Paint the Town Purple!!!

The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Cullman County is ready to Paint the Town Purple.

During the first week of May, leading up to the May 6 event at the Cullman County Fairgrounds, Cullman County business and residents are encouraged to show their support of Relay For Life by purchasing a purple ribbon to display for the month of May. The ribbons will be available from any Relay For Life team member.

The fundraiser is offering two options for ribbons. Large ribbons are $25 and the team member who sells the ribbon will take a photo of the business or individuals who made the donation. That photograph will be published in The Cullman Times. Small ribbons are $10, with the donors’ name to be listed in The Cullman Times. The date or dates of publication will be announced at a later day, determined by the number of donations.

“Paint Your World Purple” is the national theme for Relay For Life this year,” said Helen Allen, a 22-year volunteer in Cullman County’s event. “We thought displaying the purple ribbons would be a wonderful way to let area businesses and individuals show their support. We appreciate The Cullman Times donating space in their publication to recognize these supporters.”

Anyone interested in donating to the Paint the Town Purple campaign can contact any Relay For Life team member they know. A list of teams and their members can be found at the Relay For Life of Cullman County website, www.relayforlife.org/cullmanal. Or contact Helen Allen at 256-709-4019 or helen@weltimail.com to make a donation and schedule a photograph.
