My-Way Transportation is the presenting sponsor of the May 6, Relay For Life of Cullman County event.

The presenting sponsor for this year’s American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Cullman County is taking the wheel to issue a challenge to business colleagues encouraging them to also support the United States’ leading private funder of research.

My-Way Transportation, Inc. donated more than $10,000 to Relay For Life of Cullman County’s 2016 campaign. The donations were generated by My-Way Transportation associates over the last year, at least the 15th year the trucking company has supported the local fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

“We all know someone who has been affected by cancer,” said Scotty Hooper, President and CEO of My-Way Transportation, Inc. of why the company has consistently supported Relay For Life.

My-Way, is issuing a challenge to other trucking companies in the Cullman area to make their own donations to Relay For Life of Cullman County.

With the money raised through Relay For Life, the American Cancer Society funds cancer research that benefits Cullman County residents in the form of new treatments and medicines, new tests and protocols for catching cancer earlier; support and services for cancer patients and their families; and education about early detection and prevention. Almost 80 cents of every dollar donated goes toward all those efforts, making My-Way Transportation’s donation a wonderful investment toward helping to find a cure and helping those battling the disease.

“So I challenge all of the trucking companies and other businesses and industries in Cullman County to give what they can to Relay For Life and join My-Way Transportation, Inc. in the fight against cancer.”

Relay For Life of Cullman County will be held on Friday, May 6, starting at 6 p.m., at the Cullman County Fairgrounds. The event is open to the public and everyone is welcome, with a special invitation to all cancer survivors and their caregivers.
